On 27 June 2023, a one-day workshop on clay art was conducted at Suren Das College,Hajo. The workshop aimed to provide participants with hands-on experience in working with clay and exploring various techniques to create artistic pottery and sculptures. The event was organized by Women’s Studies Cell, Gender Sensitization Cell Against Sexual Harassment, Dept of Physics, Dept of English & Institution Innovation Council (IIC). Assistant Professor of dept of physics Ms. Jyotismita Doley guided the participants as a resource person.
Objectives:
The workshop was designed with the following objectives in mind:
1. Introduce participants to the fundamental techniques and tools used in clay art.
2. Encourage participants to explore their creativity and express themselves through clay sculpting.
3. Provide practical experience in working with clay and learning various hand-building techniques.
Workshop Activities:
The workshop was divided into several activities to cover various aspects of clay art and to allow participants to gain hands-on experience. The activities included:
1. Introduction to Clay Art: The workshop began with an overview of clay as a medium for artistic expression. Participants learned about the different types of clay, their properties, and the tools commonly used in clay art.
