On 30th November, the Red Ribbon Club and the Assamese Department of Suren Das College, Hajo, collaboratively organized a painting and Rangoli competition among students to commemorate World AIDS Day. The event aimed to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, emphasizing the importance of prevention and care.
The program began with a lecture delivered by Dr. Rahul Kuli, Coordinator of the Red Ribbon Club. In his insightful address, Dr. R. Kuli highlighted the alarming rise in HIV/AIDS cases globally and locally. He emphasized the need for collective efforts in combating the stigma associated with the disease and urged students to adopt precautionary measures and spread awareness in their communities.
The event saw enthusiastic participation, with a total of 30 students showcasing their creativity through painting and rangoli designs. Their artworks reflected themes related to AIDS awareness, prevention, and support for individuals living with HIV.
Approximately 100 students and faculty members attended the event, making it a highly engaging and successful initiative. The program concluded with an appreciation for the participants and a renewed commitment to spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS within and beyond the college community. Such initiatives are instrumental in educating young minds and fostering a sense of responsibility towards pressing social and health issues.
