Major Objectives

The field trip is a part of the curriculum and is a partial requirement for the completion of the degree course. Additionally, this particular educational trip was aimed at providing the students with a hands-on exposure to various techniques of vegetative propagation such as grafting, layering and bud propagation.

Activities Carried out / Detail Description of the Programme

A field visit was conducted on March 20, 2021, a group of 31 numbers of members having 2 Teachers and 29 no’s of students. The journey starts with a side scene visit on “Deep beel” then to our destination Kahikuchi, the horticultural station is under Assam Agriculture University it is a leading institute deals with diverse plant species and their horticultural aspect. The student group got a chance on practical field observation and hand on training on different vegetative propagating methods viz., Grafting, Layering, Budding etc. they also enjoyed a friendly lunch at the institutional canteen.
