Major Objectives

March 14 is celebrated as the International Day of Mathematics, because the value of mathematical constant Pi is approximately 3.14.

The main objective behind the celebration is to inculcate young students' interest in mathematics by organizing Pi recital competition, Pi-day-themed workshops, lectures, seminars among other events.

This year in 2021, the theme of International Day of Mathematics is "Mathematics for a Better World".

The Department of Mathematics celebrated International Day of Mathematics on the occasion of Pi day on 13 March,2021(because  March 14 was a Sunday).  On the occasion, a competition on Pi recitation among the students was also conducted.
