A seven days special camp was organized by the NSS Unit of Suren Das College, Hajo at VP Kaibartatola LP school of Kaibartatola, Hajo (which is a adopted village) in association with Kaibartatola Raij Goyrah from 27th June to 3rd July, 2019. The first day of the programme commenced hoisting of the flag followed by Saplings plantation programme. Then special camp inauguration meeting was held at 11 am under the president ship of Sri Bhabakanta Das. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. H. K. Sarma, Principal, Suren Das College, Hajo, Sri Kamal Baruah, Circle Officer, Hajo Revenue Circle was present as Chief guest. A large number of local people, school children, teachers, guests and 35 number of NSS volunteers were present in the inauguration programme.
On the same day, in the afternoon, after lunch, a door to door survey of the locality of the village was done by the NSS volunteers on Socio-economic status, education, hygiene, cleanliness, drinking water, sanitation etc. The survey was done with the help of questionnaire among 60 families of the locality and a report was prepared on the basis of the collected data.
Many awareness and health check-up programmes were organized during the camp.

More than 60 participants of the village were benefited by the free health check-up programme and medicines with free of cost were also supplied to them.
5. Mock drill and Awareness programme on National disaster was conducted by the civil defense officers of the Office of the Controller of Civil Defense, Guwahati
6. A Cleanliness programmewas also undertaken during the special camp. The NSS volunteers cleaned the school campus, main chowk and bazar grihaand sprayed bleaching powder.
The valedictory function was held on the last day of the camp. Dr. Ranjan Kr. Kakati, Director, Students’ Welfare and Programme Co-ordinator, NSS Cell, Gauhati University was present as Chief Guest. He encouraged and praised the NSS volunteers for the activities done during the camp and advised to take initiative for the welfare of the locality accordingly.
