Major Objectives

The major objective of the webinar was to remeber the glorious history of India's Freedom movement. The other minor objectives of the webinar was to sensitize the students on Indias heritage, struggle for freedom and to inculcate values mutual living, tolerance, secularism, democratic values and multiculturalism among the students.

In view of the launch of the programme “AzadiKaAmritMahotsav” to celebrate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievement, a lecture programme was organized by IQAC on the topic “India’s Freedom Struggle” on 12th March, 2021. Dr Ramen Medhi,Head of Political Science Department and DrAmulyaKalita,Head of History Department of Suren Das College graced the programme as resource persons. Dr Ramen Medhi has delivered a fruitful lecture on the topic “Significance ofDandiYatra” which was an act of nonviolent civil disobedience in colonial India led by Mahatma Gandhi. Teachers and students took part in the programme.
