To enhence the vocabullary capacity of the students

An extension Education Programme was organised by the Geography Deptt at Hajo Boy's Senior Basic school on 27th April, 2021. The students of the Deptt. taught Social Studies in class VI & VII.

To create Awareness among the local people related to COVID-19 Pandemic

The Extension cell in collaboration with IQAC of Suren Das College, Hajo organised an awareness programme on COVID -19 Pandemic on 18th March, 2020 among the local public. The faculties of the college were organised a campaign programme in the local area and distributed various kinds of pamphlets related to information of CORONA VIRUS for common public. Hand sanitizers were dristibuted as the precautionary measures to be taken to avoid its infection and spread and also encouraged people to wash their hands regularly, avoid gathering and to use msk.

The principal objective was to create awareness about the environmental issues that have paused danger to the society.

The Extension Cell of Suren Das College, Hajo organised an Environmental Awareness meeting on 19/06/2019 at Manikut High School, Hajo. The meeting was presided over by Sri Naba Kumar Das, Head master of the School. The Welcome address was delivered by Dr. mina Kumari Devi, Co-ordinator of the Cell. Dr. Binita Das of the Education department and Dr. Ranju Thakuria of the assamese Department of the College delivered speech on the importance of environment. A lively interaction session was also organised with the students.

On the same day, an essay competition on the topic "nature Environment and our Duty" was held among the students of the school. Prizes were distributed among the winners. The Vote of thanks was offered by mrs. Sabita Kalita, Asst. Prof in Philosophy of Suren Das College.

To create environmental awareness among students

The Extension Cell of Suren Das College, Hajo organised an Environmental Awrenesss meeting on 19/06/2019 at Manikut High School. The Meeting was precided over by sri naba kumar Das, Head masterof the school an welcome address was delivered by Dr. M.K. Devi co-ordinator of the Cell. An interactive session was held with the students of the school.

The principal objective was to study the political awareness of the people of the area. Also, it was an attempt to introduce the students to ethnic diversity of the state and also to acquint themselves with exchange of politics and society

To encourage students for academic improvement 

A felicitation program was held on 8/9/2018 at RBK Anchalik High school, Kalitakuchi for felicitating students excellent performance in HSLC examination.

to develop thinking power and understanding of students 

An Inter school Quiz competition was held 27/08/2018 in Suren Das College, Hajo among various schools in greater Hajo area to develop thinking power and understanding of students.

To all round development of Class 9th and 10th standard students

On account of World environment day, 2018 the Extension cell of Suren Das College, Hajo organized an essay competition on the topic "Natural Environment and Our Responsibilities" among the students of Class 9th and 10th of RBK Anchalik High school and Manikut High school as both the schools are adopted by the college for their all round upliftment besides education.

The principal objective of the programme was to create political awareness among the students and to give exposure to the students to the functioning of the Assam Legislative Assembly.

A team of 28 students under the supervision of Dr. Ripima Buzarbaruah and Dr. Arup Kr. Deka visited Assam Legislative Assembly on 14th September, 2017. The visit was conducted as per the Govt. scheme "Exposure visit of students to the Assam Legislative Assembly" under Parliamentary Affairs Ministry. The students got the opportunity to view the Assembly proceedings. After Assembly Session, the Ministry arranged for an interaction session for students in the Central Hall, with the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Chandra Mohan Patowary, Ms Suman Haripriya, MLA, Hajo LAC and Mr. Rekibuddin Ahmed, MLA, Chaygaon LAC. Certificates were awarded to the students for visiting the Assembly.
